Flight Six Preview
The title pretty much sums up the exciting news. I have a short story in the upcoming Flight volume, which will be out next month!
You may have seen news of this on my art website, or on the comic’s sidebar, where you can purchase some of my published work via my aStore on Amazon. Without further ado, here’s a preview spread of my story.

A small part of my starting One Swoop Fell was so that I could learn storytelling and comics well enough to be invited by Kazu Kibuishi to contribute to the Flight series…. a major personal goal I’d hoped to achieve two or three years down the line…. I was invited after the 7th page! It may have something to do with Kazu and I sharing many of the same influences, aesthetic tastes, as well as a similar background in traditional illustration. Or maybe he just made a huge mistake.
At any rate, I’m hugely honored and excited to be a part of the Flight crew.
So there you have it, but that’s not all of the exciting news. I’m hoping to have a print edition of One Swoop Fell ready for Comic-Con next month. I’ll be at the Flight booth so it’ll be a great chance to spread the word about this little comic of mine. At the moment, it looks like I’ll be using a print-on-demand service, most likely Ka-Blam. They unfortunately do not offer a landscape format, so it may appear sideways on their online catalog, though I’ll be sure to display it properly at the booth!

This is SUCH awesome news! I KNEW you would be invited - it was truly inevitable!
I’m sad that we’ll be missing SDCC this year - perhaps next year~

Dude, you deserve it. Swoop is one of the best webcomics out there. I could tell by the 7th page.

Don’t know enough about ka-blam for a proper comparison but Blurb.com offers a landscape (2 sizes) in soft- and hard-cover and you can sell your books through a link from your website to their website.

Hi Anne,
Thanks so much for the advice! I thought about Blurb before, but they don’t distribute to other online sellers like Lulu and Ka-blam does. The other challenge is that I have some double pagers that read from top to bottom. In a landscape book, it’d have to be split into left and right. I’d love to hear what you guys think about this. Should I have a standard sized book that you have to rotate with the binding up to read, or a landscape format (wide format with binding on the side), with two-page spreads divided? An example of a two page spread that might look weird split onto a left and right page is The Great Swoopdini. Any feedback is much appreciated!
