Happy First Birthday, Swoop!
Aww, nothing brings friends and arch enemies together like cake, am I right? I can’t believe a year’s gone by on the comic already. What’s more, I can’t believe a year’s gone by and our heroes haven’t touched that tree yet. Hopefully you guys are enjoying the adventure so far… as for this week’s updates, I’m sorry to be taking a break… preparations for the Comic-Con were just too overwhelming. But I’ve still got some news! First, I’ve moved all of my One Swoop Fell stuff into its own shop - Topo’s Workshop!
Unfortunately, I still haven’t got much in the way of your traditional swag, like buttons, stickers, and very small rocks, but I did put together these hand-pressed birthday greeting cards with the help of my lovely wife, Alex:
Thanks for the help, Alex! As you can see, I have trouble spelling “birthday”… but we’ll let that slide for now.

Love the picture! I’m especially fond of Prof. Phileas Puff drinking through a straw on the right there.
Don’t let anything happen to him, ok? I’m rooting for that little fish, to be honest. I mean, there’s got to be SOME way in which he came to his position of lording over beefy guys like Max, and I’m guessing that he can actually be pretty smart when he has to be. I’m really looking forward to seeing how his devious mind will help him escape from his current, seemingly hopeless, humiliation.

By the way… how exactly is the pigeon able to hold on to Swoop’s hat without the hat falling off? Wouldn’t it have been more practical to hold on to the bowl?

Haha, I love Professor Puff’s expression, and the drink-holding contraption he’s got there. And the straw. And the party hat on top of his top hat. I’m also rather fond of Rico’s hat’s strap breaking. I feel your pain, Rico.
While I suspect he is but a temporary minor character, I love seeing the pigeon peeking out from under the table cloth. Oh, Pigeon, you so crazy!
You know, sometimes I forget how octagonal Topo’s head is….

Hello everyone, and thanks for all the birthday wishes! I’m back from Comic-Con - very exhausted, but happy with how the weekend went. Sorry I couldn’t respond to your guys’ posts earlier, as I had no internet in the Exhibit hall or hotel. But I read each comment and I’m just pleased as punch that you guys have been so supportive.
Needless to say, after spending a weekend with some of my favorite people in comics, I am super inspired to get some pages done. Thanks again, guys!
