No, the title is not an attempt to get more subscribers on my Twitter feed.
This page is dedicated to Opus, a strip I used to enjoy, then recently rediscovered, only to learn it was ending once and for all. The final strip ran this past Sunday. It’s an odd coincidence that the last panel in this week’s Swoop is so similar to Opus‘ last panel, but rather than ignore it, I thought I’d tip my hat instead to Berkeley Breathed and the wonderful world he’s left behind.
While I don’t necessarily empathize with Mr. Breathed’s reasons for ending the strip, I can certainly relate to his desire to reclaim innocence through children’s storytelling.

Wow, Topo is SO good that he can make small detailed doll house toys. Now excuse me while I oggle wood texture ^^

Beautiful work and I like the story so far. Reminds me of Copper in some ways - maybe the color palette? Is it drawn digitally? If not, love to see some original art available. Keep up the great work!

Shane - you should see some of the tiny wooden toys I found at this local shop…. but man they are expensive! Maybe Topo has an easier time doing it because his claws can get into those tight spaces.
Larry - Thanks so much! I’m a big fan of Kazu’s work, and now that you mention it, we do have similar color sensibilities.
Ahem… Not to throw a sales pitch at you, but if you’re interested, feel free to check out my illustration stuff: http://www.duttonart.net or shop at duttonart.etsy.com.
As for my comic, every strip is drawn and inked by hand on 14×17 bristol. I’m still undecided on what to do with the original pages, but I appreciate the encouragement to sell them.
